Introduction

Ittefaq Traders Community Welfare Program (ITCWP) is a registered community based Non Governmental and Non- Profit Welfare Organization established in the year 1999, with the sole charitable aim and objective "Help the Helpless" under the visionary leadership of its Founder Chairman Mr. Abdul Hameed Gurwara and President Mr. Khawaja Aftab Iqbal.

ITCWP established a kidney hospital in Peshawar in the year 2002, under the title of "Ittefaq Kidney & General Welfare Hospital" and in 2004, a kidney dialysis center in Kohat, with the help of the government of KPK and incredibly generous contribution of local philanthropic community.

The hospital since its birth became a ray of light for the kidney patients who cannot afford the expensive treatment of kidney dialysis. We have provided hundreds of thousands free of cost dialysis to the underprivileged kidney patients.

As the kidney disease is growing rapidly, we are exploring opportunities of increasing our dialysis capacity by replacing 5 old dialysis machines with new ones and enhance the number of beds and induct 3 new machines. We are also planning to multiply our geographic presence in other areas of the province. This is a huge challenge and we cannot overcome this challenge at our own. We need support from the government of KPK and our generous donors.

CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

I have always valued how our workforce rises to meet every challenge we face. We thank them for taking that dedication this past year as they adapted to the challenges of a global pandemic and delivered uninterrupted services for the kidney patients when they needed us the most.

Throughout 2020-21, our hospital responded to the economic impacts and operational setbacks from COVID-19 with strong governance and supervision. The management approved difficult but necessary financial decisions to maintain operating cash flow, preserve jobs and maintain dialysis services for our kidney patients to keep their hopes alive.

Measures such as reducing capital expenditures have strengthened our financial position and allowed Ittefaq Kidney & General Welfare Hospital to bounce back quickly. Our ability to adapt and grow through this difficult period is just because of our generous donors, my heartfelt gratitude to all our donors for their unflinching support and generosity in giving life and hope to our patients. I thank them all and especially Mr. Zulfiqar Khan Retired Chief Engineer WAPDA, who donated generously and supported our mission with 5 new dialysis machines.

We have a 22 years long story of hope and untiring efforts to make the miserable lives of the kidney patients comfortable as much as we can. Our story will prolong with the help of our government and kindhearted individuals for the patients we serve. Please come forward and support this noble cause to fight together against this deadly and expensive disease, your help can make someone's life easier.
I am proud of the dialysis services and support that we have been providing for the last 22 years to the poor kidney patients. The support of our society, generous donors, our dedicated team and the help of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made it possible. Your support gives us courage and enables us to provide such an expensive treatment free of cost to those patients who sometimes even cannot pay taxi charges to get to the dialysis center. I thank you all for your untiring support. Your help is a ray of hope for the hopeless patients.
